Home and Family

It is important to balance the food you eat with physical activity. The goal of the Health and Wellness agent is to improve health and quality of life. Helping Kansans eat healthier and increase physical activity can improve their quality of life now and in the future and reduce health care costs. The following are just some of the programs offered.

K-State Research and Extension is proud to offer programs such as Walk Kansas which is a team-based program  stressing eating well and physical activity that will help you and others lead a healthier life.

Stay Strong Stay Healthy: Stay Strong, Stay Healthy (SSSH) is an evidenced based eight-week program for older adults that meets the recommendation for healthy muscle strength.

Dining with Diabetes a four part program where participants learn up-to-date information on nutrition, meal planning, exercise, and how to understand common diabetes related medical tests as well as how to prepare meals that are healthy, easy to prepare, and tasty.
